Dr. Hicks' current focus is on building tools and languages for improving the reliability and security of software. His research expertise is in Programming Language Design and Implementation, Security, Adaptive and Reconfigurable Architectures, and Networked and Distributed Systems

Credentials

Dr. Hicks received an NSF CAREER Award in 2004, the ACM SIGPLAN Doctoral Dissertation award in 2002, and was a Cornell University Information Assurance Institute (IAI) Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2001. Dr. Hicks has served on program committees for several conferences and has provided reviews for a variety of journals, generally in programming languages and systems.
