Dr. JaJa is the author of more than 135 refereed publications in parallel and distributed computing, combinatorial algorithms, scientific visualization, data intensive computing, data archiving and preservation, algebraic complexity, and VLSI architectures. He is the former director of the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS) and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
