| Subject: | Implications of Stimulus Act on Research Administration; March 9 Training Agenda |
Please forward to all interested parties
Due to the importance of the recently enacted "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009", (Stimulus Act), the ORAA sponsored training agenda for March 9th has been updated to include the following:
Overview of the Recovery Act
Revised Proposal Submission Guidelines
Revised Award Acceptance Guidelines
Revised Accounting Guidelines
Extensive Reporting Requirements
These are exciting times for the research community and we all need to be prepared for the increased stewardship associated with the funds. All Stimulus Act-related funds will need to be tracked and reported on separately (even supplements to existing awards). It is important for all research administrators to be informed and up-to-date on how to capture and report on the use of any stimulus related activity. To identify Stimulus Act funded activity, ORAA's internal routing form has been updated to capture this information. The latest version can be found at http://www.umresearch.umd.edu/ORAA/form/um_oraa_forms.html It is imperative that the latest version of the routing form is used when routing proposals.
As we learn more information, we will provide additional guidance to the campus community. We urge you to join us as we discuss this new Act and its administrative impact.
