Industrial Affiliate Programs at the University of Maryland
Research centers created by departments can create programs and offer consortium memberships to industry.
The Center for Environment Energy Engineering, the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering,
and the Institute for Systems Research are three such programs on the UM campus.
The Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC)
The Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) is the technology transfer office at the University of Maryland.
OTC facilitates the transfer of cutting-edge technologies to business and industry for intellectual property developed
at the University of Maryland. OTC develops and manages a high-quality portfolio of diverse technologies,
ensures intellectual property rights through patents or copyrights, and negotiates and executes licensing agreements
in order to provide benefits to the university and the local economy.
