The Office of Technology Commercialization provides expert guidance,
support, and assistance to the campus in safeguarding intellectual property,
encouraging research, facilitating technological transfer, and promoting
collaborative research and development agreements with industrial sponsors.

Maryland Technology Extension Services
The Maryland Technology Extension Services (MTES) offers technical
assistance to Maryland companies in many area, including: Lean Manufacturing,
Business and Management, Environmental Engineering, and Manufacturing Process
Improvement.
One Stop Shop
One Stop Shop for Business Assistance provides links to business services and other information
made available at the University of Maryland including marketing,
supply chain management and
executive training.
Maryland Technology Development Corporation
The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) was created by the Maryland General Assembly
to assist in transferring the results and products of scientific research and development conducted by
colleges and universities to the private sector for commercialization. Additionally, TEDCO assists in
the commercialization of technology developed in the private sector and fosters the commercialization
of research and development to create and sustain businesses throughout all regions of the State
