MEMORANDUM

As you know, Congress passed and the President signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) on February 17, 2009. Over $21B in research funding will be available over the next few years to stimulate the economy and provide investments to enhance US competitiveness. A number of Federal agencies are involved, and each one is approaching the expenditure of these funds in their own unique way.

In order to assist our faculty in tracking the opportunities and reporting requirements in the ARRA, the Division of Research has set up a Recovery Act web site, www.umresearch.umd.edu/recovery, which can also be accessed from our Division of Research home page, www.umresearch.umd.edu. It has links to all appropriate Federal agency sites and to all new funding announcements and unique ARRA administrative requirements.
