Welcome to the University of Maryland Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society

Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, is an international honorary research society with 65,000 members worldwide. Sigma Xi members can be found in virtually every branch of academia, government and industry, and are active in a broad range of activities from local science fairs to deciding issues of political importance relating to research. Sigma Xi also publishes American Scientist six times a year and holds annual forums on topical scientific research issues such as scientific ethics and the future of federal funding for research.
